Crane It!
A downloadable project
Submission to the "Nokia Art Jam 2" by "Polyducks"
For this entry I ended up going with the optional theme: Lost games for the Nokia 3410
Decided to make a block puzzle game with the canvas and color limitations that the 3410 implies and also try to make it look like
some sort of ""lost media"" thing:
Story
Made in the late glory days of the Nokia 3410 by a group of unknown developers
in Europe. This game was never released not only due to what it seems the
company taking a step back but also a complete dismantle, not even beeing
able to find any info about the developers (except by the "end credit" names
that are written in the classic false name sindrome of the era)...
The only info we have, including and early prototype and incomplete rom
is some other developing material found in an abandoned rent garage in Spain.
Gameplay
Inspired by "Panel de Pon" this game haves as a main mechanic the
use of a crane to move all blocks, since it haves to be quite simplified
the game compensates the lack of space by making a more slow
and metodical loop, indicating always where the next block is going
to land, showing the type and even letting you move every block
if you want to.
Num 5 | Start the game/use crane |
Num 4/6 | Move left/right |
Num 0 | Pause the game |
Art/Music
Music for now will not be uploaded since we are still recreating the broken
prototypes left, and this goes for the art too! What you've been seeing was recreations of the original art
based on the sketches and messy design documentation found.
